HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY
The School of Technology was born out of development and expansion of the then School of Applied Science and also, to go in line with the technological development in the world during Chief Mrs. Odugbesan's era as the Rector of Yaba College of Technology in 1998.
Since inception, the School has had seven deans, namely:
ENGR. MRS. AMUSU, IDAYAT (1998 – 2002)
DR. AKINJAYEJU, OLUWOLE (2003 – 2004)
MR. BIOTIDARA, FRANK (2005 – 2008)
DR. ADEAKIN, A. A. Olanibugbe (2009 – 2010)
DR. ADIGUN, JOHNSON OYERANMI (2011 – 2014)
MRS. DADA, BOLANLE (2015 – 2018)
DR. OKOLIE, NWABUEZE PETER (2019 – Date)
The school has developed and expanded to the glory of God beyond what it was as at that time. The School started with four departments namely:
Department of Computer Technology
Department of Food Technology
Department of Hotel and Catering Management [now Hospitality Management]
Department of Polymer and Textile Technology
The School later had three additional departments, namely:
Department of Agricultural Technology [Epe Campus]
Department of Leisure and Tourism Management [Epe Campus]
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics [Epe Campus]
Department of Leisure and Tourism Management was carved out of Department of Hospitality Management. Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was carved out of the Department of Food Technology in 2018.
